The District Legal Services Authority, Nagaon with its office at the District & Sessions Judge Court Complex, was constituted by the Assam State Legal Services Authority, Guwahati vide Notification No. LGL/176/94/PT/11/48, Dtd. 07.04.98 to implement legal sevices programme in the District. The purpose of the District Legal Services Authority is to provide free legal Services to the weaker section of the society and to organize Lok Adalats for amicable settlement of the disputes.
